Chandelier Removal, Transport & Custom Crating
This is a specialized service involving careful electrical disconnection, secure lowering, **custom box/crate fabrication**, protective packing, and transport—followed by re-installation and reassembly at the destination. Materials are made specifically for your fixture and are not reusable.
What’s Included
- Careful electrical disconnection and secure lowering of the chandelier.
- Partial or full disassembly as needed to prevent damage.
- Custom box or crate fabrication using new, non-reusable materials sized to your fixture.
- Protective packing and transport in a secured position.
- Re-installation and reassembly at the destination address.
Measuring Options
We visit your site (fixtures up to 10′), set up ladders, and record height/width/depth. These measurements are used to fabricate the crate and are guaranteed accurate for the build.
You may provide height/width/depth. If measurements are inaccurate and a crate is built from them, payments for materials and labor are forfeited and a new build will be billed separately.
Need a quick estimate? Start with onsite measuring so we can size the crate correctly and ensure safe handling end-to-end.
Chandelier Crating & Shipping Services
Chandelier removal, custom boxing, transport, and reinstallation is a highly specialized service that requires significant labor, materials, and care. Because of the custom nature of this project and the risks involved, our pricing reflects the time, fabrication, and liability required to ensure the safe handling of your fixture. If this doesn’t align with your budget, we completely understand — not every project is the right fit.
Two Professional Packing Options—Same Expert Protection
Moving nearby or across the country? We build custom chandelier containers that protect delicate arms, frames, and crystal during transport. Choose a lightweight corrugated box with an internal wood support or a solid wood shipping crate—we’ll guide you to the right level of protection for your fixture, route, and budget.
Corrugated Boxing + Internal Wood Support
Cost-effectiveA heavy-duty double-wall corrugated box reinforced with a custom wooden framework. The chandelier is suspended so it can’t strike the sides, with foam, padding and anti-vibration packing.
- Lighter weight → lower shipping cost
- Custom wood hang points keep fixture centered
- Great for local/short-haul moves and moderate-size fixtures
From: typically $800+ depending on size/materials. Final price after site measurements.
Custom Solid Wood Crating
Maximum ProtectionFull wooden crate engineered for long-distance freight and high-value or oversized chandeliers. Built-in suspension and blocking, foam lining, and vibration mitigation for rougher routes.
- Best for large, fragile, antique, or multi-tier fixtures
- Recommended for national/international freight
- Engineered to ISPM-15 requirements on request
From: based on size/weight/route. We’ll quote after on-site measurements.
What’s Included
- On-site measurement (or detailed dimensions/photos) and packing plan
- Secure suspension of arms/frame; padding and anti-vibration packing
- Optional crystal removal & labeling, bulb/finial bagging
- Pickup & delivery coordination; local, national & international shipping
- Reinstallation scheduling on request (quoted separately)
How It Works
- Assessment: Share photos/dimensions or schedule a site visit so we can measure and choose the right container.
- Build & Pack: We fabricate the support frame/crate, suspend the chandelier, and add padding & vibration control.
- Label & Load: “This Side Up” / “Do Not Stack” labels; we review handling with you or your movers.
- Ship or Store: We coordinate transport or prepare for secure storage/pickup.
Important Shipping & Responsibility Notice
We pack, suspend, and protect each chandelier to a professional standard. Responsibility transfers to the customer and carrier once the box/crate leaves our custody. We cannot be liable for handling during transport or reinstallation by third parties.
Customer & Mover Guidelines
- Keep Upright: Move vertically. Do not tilt/roll with a dolly on an angle.
- No Stacking: Never place items on top of chandelier containers (even double-wall boxes).
- Team Lift: Always use two people; avoid sudden shifts, drops, or sliding.
- Reinstall Professionally: Use a qualified installer to avoid damage.
Tip: In your message, include approximate width/height, weight (if known), ceiling height, and origin/destination ZIPs.

Important Shipping & Crating Disclaimer
Not all chandelier boxes are designed for third-party shipping or freight transport. Please specify your needs when ordering so we can construct the appropriate solution for storage, local transport, or freight shipping.
We offer multiple crating options based on your specific requirements:
- Temporary Storage or Local Delivery: A full hardwood crate is not necessary for short-term storage or transport within the local area.
- Freight Shipping Crates: These are built for maximum protection, often requiring pallet construction for forklift compatibility and reinforced plywood for durability during transit.
🔹 We do not arrange or handle third-party shipping. Our services are limited to local and statewide delivery using our own trucks, which must be quoted separately.
Please ensure you select the correct option in advance, as different shipping methods require specific crate constructions.
Fragile Fixture Liability Waiver – Chandelier & Glass Repair
This waiver applies to all chandelier removal, disassembly, transport, or any combination of these services — especially involving older, pre-owned, or in-place fixtures. Customers acknowledge that breakage is likely to occur, particularly with fragile materials such as crystal arms, bowls, bobeches, finials, or decorative components.
Despite our best efforts and extreme care, these fixtures are inherently delicate and often structurally compromised due to age, previous installations, or prior damage. We assume no responsibility or liability for any damage, loss, or breakage of chandelier parts during removal, storage, transport, or reinstallation — regardless of cause.
Customers understand that sourcing replacement parts for chandeliers (especially Murano glass or antique pieces) is extremely difficult, time-consuming, and costly, and may only be possible in rare cases. Replacement part searches, if requested, will be billed separately at a premium rate, and availability is not guaranteed.
If your chandelier is of significant financial or sentimental value, we recommend obtaining a temporary insurance policy or confirming coverage with your homeowner's insurer prior to removal and transport.
By approving this work, you agree to hold our company harmless for any damage, defects, or missing components related to fragile fixtures. If you do not agree, please do not hire us for this project.
How to Move Your Chandelier Crates Safely
Our crates suspend the chandelier frame inside a shock‑buffered cage. To keep it perfectly centered and damage‑free, always lift straight up and never tilt the crate or box.
DO Lift Straight Up
DON'T Tilt or Pry

If you’re using a third-party carrier, share these instructions with the dispatcher and driver notes.
Driver Notes (copy/paste)
- Crate contains a suspended chandelier. Keep vertical at all times.
- Lift from pallet base only using pallet jack, forklift, or lift‑gate. No side‑lifting.
- Use two straps minimum, secured to pallet only. Do not strap around crate walls or lid.
- Move slowly; avoid sudden starts/stops that may cause internal swing.

CRATE FORM
We build custom chandelier boxes and crates for chandelier storage, transport* and temporary holding, based on your needs.
Each box is custom built, so we need the dimensions of your fixture, which likely requires a site visit to take accurate measurements. Our chandelier boxes are built so that the chandelier hangs safely inside during transport.
Minimum pricing starts at $800 and goes up based and size and material type required. A site-visit fee to measure is based on your location address and start at $150. Very often, a crate or box is not necessary for a temporary relocation. We also offer monthly storage options at our facility,

*WE DO NOT HANDLE THIRD PARTY SHIPPING AT ALL – ONLY THE BOXING/CRATING. We can provide delivery service, but please specify if this is what you want.
